Skiing & Snowboarding
Don't assume that Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains will be closed or too crowded during the Games – far from it! According to
WhistlerBlackcomb.com, skiers and riders this year will have over 7,500 acres to explore throughout the season, with more groomed terrain than any other ski resort in North America. Already a world-famous ski destination, this year's season will be better than ever.
Whistler Mountain will be accessible via the Whistler Village Gondola and the Fitzsimmons Express all season long, while Blackcomb will be accessible via the Excalibur Gondola and the Wizard Express.
The Creekside base is where most Olympic Alpine Events will take place, and this area will be closed at certain points to prepare for Events as necessary. The Creekside Gondola will be closed February 1 to early March. To help during that closure, B.C. shuttle service will be increased during this time to make sure Whistler guests can access the mountains quickly and conveniently.
